Today, we celebrated Max's 11th Birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAX!!!!
It was a little windy outside, but it was a beautiful day and we had a blast. The wind even made for some good attempts at kite flying! Unfortunately, the wind was following Murphy's Law and the kites ended up not working out as well as we'd hoped.
I could not WAIT to see the look on Max's face when he opened our card. I think it took him a second to register what the piece of paper was, but when he did, it was all smiles!!!

"You're going to LegoLand Deutschland July 8th-9th. Happy Birthday!"
That piece of paper there says
"You're going to LegoLand Deutschland July 8th-9th. Happy Birthday!"
I believe he was pleased!
We also had a pinata. I don't think there is a kid in the world who doesn't like candy raining from the sky.
No Pandas Were Harmed in the Making of this Photo!!!

Max,
I want you to know how proud I am of you. Every single day you amaze me and everyone around you. Whether it's a little Max-ism or just restating a fact in such a way that it all makes sense, you are a light in my life.
Meltdowns happen, but you are learning how to deal with them and I think you're even learning how to avoid them. Either way, I think you are one day going to take the Aspie world by storm and show us all that your way isn't so bad.
It's hard to see my youngest child growing up so fast. Especially when I realize that you are so independent now. I wish I could just freeze frame you right here in this moment. Of course, other days I can't wait to fast-forward to see who you'll become.
Keep smiling, baby. I just can't get enough of them!!!
Love,
Mommy
