My Dearest Darlingest Morgan,
Today, you turned 14. Another year headlong into Teenager-Hood and another year closer to the dreaded Driver's License. I think I shall go jump off a cliff now. It will save me the hours of panic I think I'll have over the idea of you driving around a 2 ton hunk of metal.
We are, right now, in London. The place I've dreamed of visiting since I was about 8 years old. Not only is the dream coming true, but it's coming true with you by my side. Funny how that's happened a lot in the last 14 years. Everytime something good happens, I look and seem to find you sitting right there. I don't think it's a coincidence.
I know you're going through some of the growing pains of being a Teenager, but when you aren't overcome by BNTS (Big Nasty Teenager Syndrome), you are just too cool for school. I love that we can talk and laugh and sometimes even share a moment without speaking. You are me. You are also uniquely you. Sometimes just when I think I can predict you, you prove me wrong.
You've had a lot going on lately, but you're really starting to show me how much of a wonderful young lady you are becoming. Let the rocky times just be rocky times. A flash in the pan. They are not what defines you. They are just moments and are gone. It's the memories we're making that I want you to hold with you forever.
Love,
Mom
P.S. Please keep using the camera. Your photography is brilliant!!!
